Aagol REVIEW! #1615

Name of the book – Aagol

Name of the author – Kabilan Vairamuthu

“Aagol” offers a compelling, modern take on the criminal caste laws that prevailed during British rule in India. Each chapter of this novel stands alone, unfolding as its own captivating story, yet all the narratives seamlessly merge into a cohesive universe. This unique storytelling approach not only highlights the intricate layers of history and society but also creates a rich tapestry of interconnected lives and events. With its blend of individual tales and overarching themes, “Aagol” provides a thought-provoking exploration of an era marked by injustice, making it a must-read for those interested in historical and social issues.

The story revolves around a 2032 data breach that forces Nithilan and his group to go back in time to retrieve the stolen information. This novel’s plot revolves around anomalies in a business that keeps fingerprint and iris data, which the Indian government needs for a single identity card. There’s an argument between spirituality and reason as we turn the pages. I was astounded to discover the links between different events, which the author skillfully made.

Author Kabilan Vairamuthu cleverly links Aagol’s prediction of cyber risks with a historical political event. The original is faithfully translated, preserving its vitality and character. The complex storyline and nuanced cultural details are expertly maintained. The way this novel seamlessly crosses linguistic and cultural boundaries excites and surprises me. The novel spans several centuries and discusses topics like time travel to the past and the metaverse, as well as tribal life. The links are fascinating.
